Kinetic Electrical Kapiti Horowhenua completed the electrical fit-out for the new Paekākāriki Surf Club, working alongside Homestead Construction to deliver the purpose-built coastal facility.
The new 1,000-square-metre, two-level building supports both lifesaving operations and wider community use.
A new home for surf lifesaving and the community
The new building replaces a 60-year-old facility that could no longer meet the club’s operational needs.
With coastal erosion presenting an ongoing challenge, the clubhouse was repositioned further inland while maintaining a strong connection to the beach and surf lifesaving activities.
The result is a modern, resilient facility designed to serve the Paekākāriki community for decades to come.
A complete electrical fit-out
Kinetic Electrical Kapiti Horowhenua looked after the electrical requirements across the project.
The team completed electrical work throughout the precast-concrete building, including the watch tower, first-aid room and garaging.
Delivering the electrical fit-out required close coordination with Homestead Construction and the wider project team as the different operational and community spaces took shape.
Supporting a specialised coastal facility
The ground floor accommodates the practical requirements of surf lifesaving, including equipment storage, changing rooms, first aid and public amenities.
Upstairs, the building includes a bar, kitchen, lounge, watch tower, viewing areas and decks for club and community use.
The electrical installation needed to support these varied spaces within one integrated facility, from essential operational areas to social and viewing spaces.

Commercial construction projects rely on careful planning and coordination between the builder, subcontractors and other trades.
Working alongside Homestead Construction, Kinetic completed the electrical work as part of the wider construction programme for the new clubhouse, which was completed in March 2025.
