Large-scale rural pumping infrastructure

Contracted by Waterforce Hawke’s Bay, Kinetic Electrical Hawke’s Bay supplied and installed the electrical infrastructure for four pump stations serving Wairarapa Moana Farms.

The system supplies water to 16 pivot irrigators and required significant power distribution and motor control infrastructure across a remote rural location.

Delivering power in a remote location

The project required Kinetic to deliver reliable electrical infrastructure for multiple large pump stations across a remote rural site.

Each station needed the power distribution and motor control capability to operate as part of a wider irrigation system serving 16 pivot irrigators.

Switchboards, drives and pump controls

Kinetic Electrical Hawke’s Bay supplied and installed:

  • 23 variable speed drives rated up to 90 kW
  • Three 1,000 A main switchboards
  • Electrical infrastructure for four pump stations
  • Power and controls supporting 16 pivot irrigators

The project was delivered by a six-person Kinetic team over 12 months.

Reliable infrastructure for farm irrigation

The completed electrical system provides the power distribution and motor control infrastructure required to operate four pump stations and supply water across the farm’s 16 pivot irrigators.

The project demonstrates Kinetic’s capability in rural pumping, switchboards, variable speed drives and large-scale electrical infrastructure.
