Kinetic Electrical Hawke’s Bay helped deliver one of the largest automated apple packhouses in the Southern Hemisphere, completing critical electrical work for T&G Global’s $100 million facility at Whakatū.
A world-class automated facility
Commissioned in 2023, the highly automated packhouse has 1.7 hectares of roof space and was designed to pack more than 125 million kilograms of apples each season at full capacity.
The facility integrates advanced technology throughout the packing process, from wet infeed and defect sorting through to soft-fruit handling, robotic fruit packing and palletising.
1,500 hours of specialist electrical work
Kinetic Electrical Hawke’s Bay completed approximately 1,500 hours of work manufacturing and installing motor control centres (MCCs), along with field wiring for the facility’s infeed and tray-filler systems.
Delivering this work within a major food-processing development required detailed planning, specialist resourcing and close coordination with the wider project team.
Industrial capability at scale
The project combined MCC manufacturing, field installation and automated processing within a complex industrial environment.
